April Pointscore
While we were lacking the super clean offshore conditions, we at least had some swell to work with this month. Some decent lefts could be found if you managed to stay in position with that rip kicking in and out of gear all morning, and just being lucky enough to be in the right spot. Great to see a couple of last month's female surfers paddle out in the often challenging conditions, proving too that they can certainly take it on - Krystal charging into a set even though it was going to be too late. Came to the surface with all the guys in the water cheering.
Crossy managed to get amongst it in the water with his camera so we should have some exciting shots to post in the next couple of weeks.

March Pointscore
Despite the bumpy swell and light onshore conditions the March pointscsore saw some more great surfing with members in each division making their intentions clear for the competitive year. Highlighting the club's growth was the inclusion of our first ever female only heat. 5 competitors took to the water in the inconsistent conditions supported by cheers from the entire club on shore. Stoked. Highlights included consistent surfing by Cam Simms who is set to upset some of the Opens chargers as well as his own division in Juniors, a super focussed Luke Doering, and Trav being hurled down the hill into the scrub.

Retro Classic 2011
Well Huey smiled upon us for our first pointscore and we were able to run the Retro Classic again (after skipping it for barreling pits in 2010) and it was good to have it running again. The single and twin fins leveled the field and everyone had a great day. Congrats to Luke Doering for taking it out on the day, and a big well done for Paul Lokys - not only for his second place but for tearing it up on twin-fins all day long. It was bloody close in the end and the two of them did great despite the southerly that blasted in 10 minutes before they hit the water.
Other stand-outs were Ben Richards and Cam Simms - definitely one to watch out for in both juniors and opens divisions if he can keep a board long enough without breaking it.
Got some photos up already so head to the gallery to check them out...
